He's finally mature enough to collect packages to bring back to Tarrytown Airport. To collect the package he plays six early learning games. These are brief but generally well designed. The program's biggest weakness is the tendency to over-instruct and not allow children to interrupt. (The long intro in the opening and map screen can be skipped after the game is played once, however.) In general, it's assumed that kids won't be able to figure out what to do if they click through the directions. The simple, strong interface of this program is intuitive enough that the detailed instructions could have easily been skipped. Along the same lines, the program over-reinforces correct responses, delaying the game's general responsiveness. On a more positive note, many of the activities are nicely designed with lots of opportunities for practicing skills like shape identification, letters and remembering sequences. An overall "collect the packages" theme kept testers playing for the first few sessions, though they didn't go back when the goal was complete. Children also enjoyed the six onscreen, printable coloring pages provided after each package is found. After the kids solve the game once, however, the adventure is done, and aside from three levels of difficulty, the game is the same with each replay.
